I am a psychiatrist (M.D.) practicing mostly in corrections and developmental disabilities. This is my personal site, and I write about whatever I feel inspired to discuss each week. Usually I post 2-3 times per week. I like to discuss topics about correctional and general psychiatry, the practice of medicine, and other things about life. This blog is intended for anyone who is interested in reading it. Thank you for visiting!
A few key points about this blog:
*Nothing stated on this site should be taken as medical advice. I don't give out medical advice here (so please don't ask me for such advice). Your decision to read anything I write and possibly to leave comments does not establish a doctor-patient treatment relationship between us.
*I don't write about my employers. I like them, and I'm happy with what I do. This is not a forum for me to vent about them, to criticize them, or to reveal confidential information.
*The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own and not those of my employers or educational affiliates.
*I don't blog about real patient cases. In order to illustrate a point, occasionally I will write something based on collective elemental truths of many patients I have seen over the years, but any patients referred to here should be considered fictional. Any resemblance to actual person(s) is purely coincidental.
