If you’re a regular reader here, I just want to take this opportunity to thank you! This site would be nothing without you. I’ve decided to make 2 changes to the site that I want you to be aware of. These are being made to improve your reading experience.
1. New Theme
Wasn’t it just changed in late April? Yes. But there have been problems with it.
It’s important to me that this site has an attractive appearance, but it’s even more important that it is fully functional. Otherwise, you’re not going to be able to use the site.
I’ve been surprised recently by a couple of readers who have contacted me to let me know that they were having trouble clicking on links and also that they were unable to click in any forms such as those to leave comments, to subscribe to e-mail updates, etc. I have not been able to reproduce the problem, but I’ve looked into the issue. Apparently some users of Internet Explorer 6 & 8 have had trouble with the new theme that’s been up on the site since late April. It’s not clear to me when or if the problem will be corrected. I’ve therefore made the decision to change the theme of the site yet again. It’s not really what I wanted to do, but like I said, functionality is crucial. I’d rather fix the problem myself now than wait around hoping that someone else will fix the bugs in the theme soon. The new theme should solve any problems people have been having.
I’d greatly appreciate readers letting me know if they have any problems whatsoever leaving comments, subscribing to e-mail updates, filling in the contact form, or anything else with the site. Please e-mail with your concerns at the address listed on the Contact page.
2. Full Articles in RSS Reader Feeds and E-Mail Updates
If you subscribe to e-mail updates or check for the latest posts in an RSS reader, you’ll now be able to see the entire articles. You won’t have to click on anything to go to my site to read the remainder. I hope this is more convenient for you, and I hope you’ll still come to the site to leave comments.
